How can wearable technology be used to enhance learning?

Session 4
Chris Penny, Christine DiPaulo — West Chester University

We've heard a lot about how wearable technology like Google Glass could impact medicince (http://www.livescience.com/39207-google-glass-surgery.html) commerce (http://www.businessnewsdaily.com/5341-glasspay-bitcoin-mobile-payments.html) and personal health (http://www.inc.com/scott-jones/future-of-wearable-technology.html)…but how about the classroom?

We will have a panel of perspectives ranging from entrepreneurs to local teachers and teacher educators and will address the question. "How can teachers and students benefit from the use of wearable technology?" The focus of this conversation will be the advantages, and disadvantages, and not merely a discussion of features.

Conversational Practice

We will use the What? So What? Now What? protocol for our conversation. WHAT is wearable tech? SO WHAT does wearable tech mean for our work as educators, for our students, for our schools, for teacher education? NOW WHAT do we need to do about it?
