Laurie Yager
About Me
Laurie Yager has been a Model Schools Coordinator at the Mohawk Regional Information Center for the past fourteen years, providing professional development and support to teachers on integrating various technologies into their instruction. With a background in Elementary Education and Math, she is especially interested in STEM activities, promoting the use of robotics, Web 2.0 tools and mobile devices to provide authentic, hands-on opportunities for student to interact with STEM topics. She has presented on the local, regional and state level on various technologies to support STEM. Her interest in promoting STEM also extends into her activities outside of work, where she has been instrumental in helping develop and support the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Robotics competition in the Utica region. She has served as coach of an award-winning all girl FLL team and received the FLL Adult Coach/Mentor award in 2010 and the Outstanding Volunteer award in 2013.
